'Ballarat in Pictures' Exhibition reveals the built heritage of the Golden City, as seen through the eyes of six generations of artists who have documented the development of Ballarat from the golden era through depressions and wars to the present day.

Also on show is a remarkable collection of portraits of prominent citizens from Ballarat’s pioneer generation. These 66 exquisite small paintings were painted in the late nineteenth century by Londontrained artist Thomas Price. The Ballarat Fine Art Gallery is the oldest and largest regional gallery in Australia.
