Smeaton House
118 Estate Lane, Smeaton
The owners of this stunning historic property will dress in period costume during the Ballarat Heritage Weekend.
Construction of this spectacular two-storey stuccoed brick Regency mansion began in 1849. The home was built for one of Victoria's earliest pioneers, Captain John Stuart Hepburn, and his young family.
A cemetery, owned and maintained by the National Trust, is a short wander from the home. The cemetery is the final resting place of Hepburn.
Tours and history talks will be available, as well as demonstrations of bobbin lace craft by the Australian Lace Guild's Ballarat Group. History Tours: 11am, 1pm & 3pm.
