Ballarat Fire Station Historical Exhibition & Tours


Visit the home of the Ballarat Fire Brigade - one of Victoria’s oldest - at the Ballarat East Fire Station. The building was recently used for an episode of The Doctor Blake Mysteries and is home to an impressive display of memorabilia and the restored 1938 Dodge pumper. Take in a tour which includes climbing to the top of the historical tower!

Soldiers Hill Arts Walk


The Art Walk is an initiative of the Soldiers Hill Artist Collective(SHAC) to exhibit the works of local artists. This year, the walk showcases works of art by 14 Soldiers Hill artists, in 11 locations: 5 private homes and studios, and 6 shopfront locations. The walk is self guided and takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes at a leisurely pace.

Macarthur Street Primary School is located at 401 Macarthur Street Soldierss Hill and has been providing quality education to the Ballarat Community since 1878. All parts of the original building are in use and hourly tours will provide a fascinating insight into the classical school buildings of the 19th century and their transformation to 21st century education. A selection of school memorabilia will be on display and a Devonshire tea will be available.
